  2. Cats can't digest the sugars in milk, so are lactose intolerat. They shouldn't eat wheat products either! There are some great recipes for cats - but this is sadly a recipe for upset stomachs and poor nutrition.

  8. There are a couple of things in this recipe I would never use starting with the whole wheat flour; cats should not have flour - their systems are designed to digest meat. I would use fine white bread crumbs and this, only as a base to keep the cookies together. I live on a farm and the cats drink fresh-from-the-cow milk daily, none of them are sick! But I'd use only 1/3 c milk. My choice is butter over oil any day. Oils have been overly processed. Never use soy flour! Cats are meat eaters and don't digest processed flours well. Instead of wheat germ I use Brewers Yeast for its nutritional value and if I did use the molasses, I'd use less to start with and observe my cats. I also add about 1 tsp of catnip.

  9. Its not the milk that caused your kitty to be sick, its too much of the various flours used in this recipe and the wheat germ and milk powder which has been overly processed. I have seen way too many cats drink a ton of milk and not get sick from it. If you stick to what is as close to nature as you can get, your ok with what you feed you cats.

I am learning from vets and other sites on the web, how to make my own cat food and treats but you sure have to be careful about what you choose to try.
